Programmable and Fixed Function Keys

There are five programmable and fixed functions keys in the UIP300 IP Phone. Programmable function keys can be assigned to one of the three available functions: Speed Dial, Do Not Disturb (DND), or Voice Mail.

Speed Dial

Users can make calls by pressing a key that has been previously programmed for speed dialing. Users can press a speed dial key after going off-hook with the handset or with the speakerphone. If the user presses a speed dial key while on-hook, the telephone immediately goes off-hook with the speakerphone and starts dialing the number.

Do Not Disturb (DND)

Do Not Disturb allows users to ignore all incoming calls. The calling party hears a busy tone or an announcement when DND is activated.

To use DND, a function key must be assigned. Refer to “Function Key” on page 42 for instructions for assigning DND to a function key.

To activate DND:

Press the Function key assigned for DND.

The DND key LED remains lit while the feature is activated. To deactivate DND:

Press the Function key assigned for DND.

The DND key LED goes off.

The DND key can only be activated and de-activated while the phone is on book and in the standby screen.
