USING SPECIAL FEATURES

Silent Mode

You can silence the ringers on the base a nd all handsets for a sp ecific period of
time (1 to 9 hours) or set the ringers to be off al l the time; the an swering system
answers any incoming cal ls without playing a nything throu gh the speaker.
1. Wi th the phone in standby, press a nd hold

on any handset or on the
base. The phone prompts you to select the numbe r of hours (

) that you want it to stay in silent mode.
2. To conf irm, press

or just wait about 5 seconds. The phone tur ns on
the answering system and d isplays

3. A fter the selecte d number of hours, the phone automatic ally exits sile nt
mode. To exit silent mode manually, press and hold
sIlEnT
again.

#If the phone is in silent mode and you turn of f the answering syste m,

the phone exits silent mode.

#To use the features in this section, you nee d at least 1 cordless

handset.
♦Your base supports a total of 12 cordless acce ssory handsets , including any
that came with your phone.
♦You must register accessory handset s to the base before using t hem.
Handsets that aren’t registered d isplay a “not registered” me ssage. For
registration instruc tions, see page 20, or the a ccessory handse t manual.
Conference Calling
♦When an outside call comes in, t wo cordless handset s and the base can joi n
in a conference call with t he outside caller.
♦To join a call that’s already in progress , just press
Talk/Flash
on the handset
or
sPEakEr
on the base.
♦To leave the conference call, hang up normal ly; the other stat ions remain
connected to the call.
