Telephone Troubleshooting Chart
Problem | Suggestion |
Status light won’t come on when Handset is | ∙ Make sure AC Adapter is plugged into the |

| ∙ Make sure that the charging contacts on the |
| Handset and Base Unit are clean. |
Audio sounds weak and/or scratchy. | ∙ Make sure that the Base Unit antenna is fully |
| extended and vertical. |
| ∙ Move the Handset and/or Base Unit to different |
| locations and try again. |
| ∙ Press Cto select another channel. |
Can’t make or receive calls. | ∙ Check both ends of the Base Unit telephone |
| line cord. |
| ∙ Make sure the AC Adapter is plugged into the |
| Base Unit and wall outlet. |
| ∙ Disconnect the AC Adapter for a few minutes, |
| and then reconnect it. |
Handset doesn’t ring or receive a page. | ∙ |
| Charge the battery on the Base Unit for |
| hours. |
| ∙ Extend the Base Unit antenna vertically. |
| ∙ The Handset may be too far away from the |
| Base Unit. |
| ∙ Place the Base Unit away from noise sources. |
| ∙ The Digital Security Code may be erased. Set |
| the Digital Code. |
Base Unit doesn’t ring (XCA555 Only). | ∙ Set the Base Ringer Switch to lo or hi. |
