Turnon fuel supply and retry.
Confirm the flow of gas by smell or by listening
forthe hiss of gasbeing emitted. Allow gas to clear
beforeattempting to relight.
Weighyour propane cylinder. A standard 20 lb.
cylinderwill weigh about 19 lb. when it is empty
and39 lb. when it is 80 % full.
Nevertake a propane cylinder
indoorsfor any purpose.
Confirm that the venturitubes are not blocked by
insectsor other debris. Use a special venturi brush
toclean (Fig. 15).
Usea pin or needle to carefully probe the orifice in
thegas valve. Never enlarge the orifice (Fig. 16).
Lookunder the front control panel and reinsert the
gasinjector into the venturi tube, if required(Fig.
22).
Tightenthe regulator’s plastic collar onto the
cylindervalve.
Hand-tightenonly (Fig. 4).
Forsafety, the regulator coupling on your barbecue
isequipped with a flow control mechanism. This
devicelimits gas f lowin the event of asudden
changein the demand for gas. This may be
engaged inadvertently,if aburner control knob
shouldbe left ON when you open the propane
cylindervalve. Rapidly opening the valve can also
engage flow control. Toresolve the problem, close
yourcylinder valve. Confirm that all burner control
knobsare in the OFF position. Open the cylinder
valveslowly (about 1 to 2 turns) and wait 5
seconds.Finally, turn a single burner ON and try
relightingit.
