MEMORY MODE (REGULAR MEMORY CHANNEL OPERATION)

MEMORY OFFSET TUNING

Once you have recalled a particular memory channel, you may easily tune off that chan- nel, as though you were in the “VFO” mode.

1.With the VX-8Rin the Memory Recall (“MR”) mode, select the desired memory channel.

2.Now press the key, then press key. The “MR” in-

dicator will be replaced by one which says “TUN” (“Memory Tuning”).

3. Rotate the DIAL, as desired, to tune to a new frequency.

The synthesizer steps selected for VFO operation on the current band will be the steps used during Memory Tuning.

4.If you wish to return to the original memory frequency, press key briefly. The “TUN” indicator will be replaced by “MR.”

5.If you wish to store a new frequency set during Memory Tuning, just press and hold

in the key for one second, per normal memory storage procedure. The micropro- cessor will automatically set itself to the next-available clear memory location, and

you then press the key again, briefly to lock in the new frequency.

If you want to replace the original memory contents with the new frequency settings, be sure to rotate the DIAL to the original memory channel number!

Any required CTCSS/DCS changes, or repeater offset modifications, must be done before storing the data into the new (or original) memory channel location.
