CAUTION:

●Before tilting the outboard motor, stop the engine by following the procedure on page 26. Never tilt the outboard mo- tor while the engine is running. Severe damage from overheating can result.

●Do not tilt up the engine by pushing the tiller handle (if equipped) because this could break the handle.

Manual tilt models

1.Place the gear shift lever in neutral.

2.Disconnect the fuel line if a fuel joint is provided on the outboard motor.

3.Place the tilt lock lever in the release po- sition.

4.Hold the rear of the top cowling with one hand, tilt the engine up, and turn the tilt support lever to the lock position and
