CRUISING IN SHALLOW

WATER

The outboard motor can be tilted up partially to allow operation in shallow water.

w

000832 8Place the gear shift in the Neutral position before using the shallow water cruising system.

8Run the boat at the lowest possible speed when using the shallow water cruising system. The tilt-lock mecha- nism does not work while the shallow water cruising system is being used. Hitting an underwater obstacle could cause the engine to lift out of the water, resulting in loss of control.

8Use extra care when operating in reverse. Too much reverse thrust can cause the engine to lift out of the water, increasing the chance of acci- dent and personal injury.

8Return the engine to its normal posi- tion as soon as the boat is back in deeper water.
