Auxiliary (Dial Backup)

Commands

Use these commands to configure dial backup (auxiliary) port settings on the ZyWALL.

5.1 Command Summary

The following table describes the values required for many dial backup commands. Other values are discussed with the corresponding commands.

aux-port

This identifies the channel (device) for dial backup.

 

aux0: This is the dial backup port.

 

aux1: This is the 3G WAN connection. This only applies to devices with a 3G

 

WAN connection.

Shows the AT command strings that the ZyWALL has sent to

the WAN device and the responses.

 

aux cdmamdm flag [10]

1 allows the ZyWALL to dial a CDMA modem connected to

the dial backup port.

 

aux cnt clear <aux-port>

Clears the auxiliary port’s counter information.

aux cnt disp <aux-port>

Displays the auxiliary port’s counter information.

aux dial <aux-port><phone-number>

Has the ZyWALL dial the modem. Include a # symbol at the

R

 

beginning of the phone number as required.

 

aux disableDSRCheck

The LG 340 wireless modem does not send a DSR when it is

R

 

ready. Use this command with a LG 340 wireless modem to

 

 

have the ZyWALL not check for a DSR signal.

 

 

 

 

aux dqtest <aux-port>

Sends the AT command to the WAN device

R

aux drop <aux-port>

Disconnects the auxiliary port’s connection.

R

aux enableDSRCheck

Has the ZyWALL check for a DSR signal from the modem.

Use this command if you have stopped using a LG 340

 

 

wireless modem and want to change to a regular modem (that

 

 

sends a DSR when it is ready).

 

 

 

 

aux init <aux-port>

Initializes the auxiliary port’s connection.
