Installing and Replacing Mobile Board Components

Installing a Processor

This section describes how to install a processor on the Mobile Board (see Figure 9).

CAUTION

Take care when handling the processor. Hold it by the edges to avoid touching the pins. Touching the pins may damage the processor.

To install a processor, follow these steps:

1.Observe the precautions in "Before You Begin" on page 35.

2.Locate the processor socket on the bottom of the Mobile Board (Figure 2, G).

3.Using a small flat-blade screwdriver, rotate the processor socket locking screw to

the unlocked position (Figure 9, ).

4.Align the processor (Figure 9, A) with the processor socket (Figure 9, B) so that the triangles match as shown in the figure.

5.	Insert the processor in the processor socket (Figure 9, ).
6.	Rotate the processor socket locking screw to the locked position (Figure 9, ).
