Installing and Replacing Mobile Board Components

Installing a Modem

To install a Mobile Daughter Card (MDC) modem-only card on the Mobile Board, see Figure 12 and follow these steps:

1.Observe the precautions in "Before You Begin" on page 35.

2.Insert the black connector (Figure 12, B) on the modem cable into the connector on the modem card. These connectors are keyed and will fit only one way.

3.Insert the white connector (Figure 12, C) on the modem cable into the connector on the Mobile Board. These connectors are keyed and will fit only one way.

4.Align the connector on the bottom of the modem card with the matching MDC connector (Figure 12, D) on the Mobile Board and secure the modem card to the Mobile Board with two screws (Figure 12, E) as shown.
