4 Push the memory card straight into the connector until it snaps into place. Make sure each latch fits over the notch located on either side of the memory card.

Installing an optional flash memory or firmware card

Note: Firmware cards offered for other Lexmark printers cannot be used with your printer.

Warning: Firmware cards are easily damaged by static electricity. Touch something metal on the printer before you touch a card.

Follow the instructions in this section to install flash memory or a firmware card. The system board has two connection locations where you can install a total of one flash memory card and one firmware card.

1 Unpack the flash memory or firmware card.

Avoid touching the metal pins on the bottom of the card. Save the packaging.
