4.Use the arrow keys to highlight the SAVE command, then press ENTER. The message “SAVE DONE!” displays and Local Management saves the changes to memory.

The WAN configuration is complete. It takes up to 60 seconds for the WAN Interface to come out of standby and for communications to begin.

3.4FRACTIONAL T1 CONFIGURATION USING PPP

This section provides step-by-step instructions for configuring the WPIM-RT1 to use a fractional T1 circuit in a PPP environment. This example assumes the setup shown in Figure 3-7using two CSX400s with each containing a WPIM-RT1. Configurations may vary depending on the host platform. In a fractional T1 setup, only a portion of the 24 Timeslots or DS-0s are used.

NOTE

The terms DS-0 (Digital Signal, level 0) and Timeslot are used synonymously in this guide to represent a standard 64,000 bps channel.
