9Enter the System Setup program and ensure that the hard drive’s controller is enabled. See "Entering the System Setup Program" on page 26.

10Exit the System Setup program and reboot the system.

See the documentation that came with the hard drive for instructions on installing any software required for drive operation.

11Close the system. See "Closing the System" on page 51.

12Reconnect the system to its electrical outlet and turn the system on, including any attached peripherals.

Removing a 3.5-Inch Hard Drive From a Hard-Drive Carrier

Remove the screws from the slide rails on the hard-drive carrier and separate the hard drive from the hard-drive carrier. See Figure 3-7.
