Installing a Cooling Fan

CAUTION: Many repairs may only be done by a certified service technician. Damage due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not covered by your warranty. Read and follow the safety instructions that came with the product.

1Ensure that the fan is oriented correctly.

Orient the fan module so that the side with the power cable faces the back of the system.

2Lower the fan into the fan assembly until the fan is fully seated. See Figure 3-13.

3Connect the fan’s power cable to the power connector on the system board.
