6.5.4Tear-off and type of data

When the tear-off is valid, the printer monitors the print data for 0.5 second during or after printing. If print data is transm itted within 0.5 second during or after printing, the printer will start next printing without tear-off. (When data is received during printing, the time of monitoring 0.5 second is not inserted.)

The commands for this printer are mainly classified into the immediately execution commands starting with "SOH" and the sequentially execution commands starting with "STX." In the tear-off function, only the sequentially execution commands related to print processing contents are monitored but the immediately execution commands are not monitored.

Therefore, even if the printer status or the remaining number of print sheets is read out by using the immediately execution commands during printing, the tear-off will be performed after printing. On the other hand, if the sequentially execution commands are used during printing or within 0.5 second after printing to transmit print-related data, the printer will start next printing without tear-off. (For details, see the Command Reference.)

6.5.5Cut position adjustments

The cut position can be set with the "fnnn" of the system-level commands. When the tear-off function is turned on, the following initialization value is set in the printer.

Initialization value:

fnnn = f733 (73.3 mm)

The values higher or lower will increase or decrease the amount of feed in the tear-off.
