1.Connect the DB-9 end of the communications cable to the serial port on the Scanner and the other end (DB-9 or DB-25) to the serial port on the PC.

2. Turn off the Scanner and plug the AC adapter into the Scanner.

3. Hold down the AUTOTEST and Find Cable Faults keys and press the ON/OFF key on the Scanner. The Scanner will turn on and the screen will display:

Connect the Scanner to the Injector using AC Adapter

Plug the AC adapter into the 2-Way

 

 

 

Injector+ (or the 2-Way Injector).

You are now ready to download the new

Injector

 

 

 

flash update from the PC.

7.From the DOS prompt, type PENTA -?

and press the Enter key on the PC keyboard. The options and default screen will display.

8.Type PENTA followed by the COM 1 or COM 2 option (-C1or -C2), followed by -2,

and press the <ENTER> key on the PC keyboard. Example:

PENTA -C1 -2

This command updates the 2-Way Injector+ (or the 2-Way Injector) from the flash image downloaded from the BBS. The updated software is downloaded from the PC through the PC COM port to the Scanner. While the software is being downloaded, the PC screen will show a progress graph. This process will take approximately one minute.

9. When the download is complete, the PC displays:

10.Watch the Scanner screen for REFLASH progress. The Scanner display will show the progress of the update and the 2-Way Injector+ (or the 2-Way Injector) Status and Pass LEDs will blink during the update. This step will take approximately one minute. When complete, the 2-Way Injector+ (or the 2-Way Injector) is updated with the new software.

11.To verify the update, press the Extended Functions key on the Scanner, then select Injector Info. The Scanner will display the new software version.
