ÒSetting Up the Parameters

Instructions for the data fields

Unless the ISP requires you to enter the parameters, leave these data fields blank.

Internet Connection

Depending on the ISP, your Internet connection will be one of several types. Check the information provided by the ISP and make sure which type of connection is required. Then, select the appropriate connection type from DHCP, PPPoE or Static on the KX-HGW200 web screen and enter the parameters if required by the ISP.

DHCP

When the ISP uses the DHCP server function, basically no

³Device Name

settings of the parameters are needed except for the entry of the

 

Device Name. Select the DHCP radio button according to the

 

check mark in the Memo1 (See p. 21, 25 or Quick Prep

 

Sheet). Or, check the information provided from the ISP and

 

enter the ISP specified Device Name in the data field if required.

 

If not required, leave the data field blank.

 

 

 

PPPoE*

When the ISP requires you to use the PPPoE connection, entry

 

of these data fields is needed.

 

³User Name/

Enter ISP specified User Name and Password. Connection to the

ISP is made using this User Name and Password.

 

³Service Name

Enter ISP specified Service Name if required. When a Service

 

Name is not specified by the ISP, leave this data field blank.

³Access

Enter ISP specified Access Concentrator Name (sometimes

specified by the ISP, leave this data field blank.

 

 

 

Static

When the ISP requires you to use the static IP connection, enter

*The parameters for the PPPoE connection have not been collected in the Memo sections of the previous pages or Quick Prep Sheet. To set these parameters to the KX-HGW200, refer to the information from your carrier or ISP.

Default Gateway

³Gateway

When the ISP requires it, enter the gateway IP Address in this

 

data field. Set the parameter recorded in theMemo4 (See

 

p. 22, 25 or Quick Prep Sheet).

 

 

DNS

 

³DNS Server 1/

DNS Server 2

³Domain Name

When the ISP requires them, enter the domain name server IP Addresses in these data fields. When the DNS server 2 data field is not specified, leave this data field blank.

When the ISP requires it, enter the domain name in this data field. Set the parameters recorded in the Memo5 (See p. 23, 25 or Quick Prep Sheet).
