A short circuit of the voltage supply on the USB front connector causes a reset on the Panel PC.

Caution

Wait 10 seconds after inserting or unplugging a USB unit before starting to use USB units available (e.g. external keyboard or mouse).

This also applies to touch panels, particularly with regard to touch operation.

In order to install USB devices, it is necessary to use a PS/2 mouse and PS/2 keyboard. Refer to Section "Panel PC 670/870 - Windows NT 4.0 with USB Stack" on Page 2-20.
