Operating the Panel PC 670/870

3.3.8 KeyHook

Only applies to Panel PC 670/870 with keypad front panels.

Function

KeyHook has the following two functions:

1.KeyHook prevents the impermissible, simultaneous activation of two function keys. Also refer to Chapter 2.2.

2.Applies for Windows NT, Windows 2000 and Windows XP:

The function keys F13 to F20 and S1 to S12 issue key combinations. Pressing the F13 button, for example, represents pressing the key combination Shift, F1 and releasing it the key combination Shift, F1. A different sequence of key combinations may be necessary for certain software products (e.g. SIMATIC WinCC). Using the Keyhook – tool, the Makecode "Shift, F1" and Breakcode "Shift, F1" are changed to Makecode "Shift, F1" and Breakcode "F1, Shift.

In order to start the function, select the KeyHook tab control.
