7.Select Generic Network Card as Standard for Device Type if the device is not automatically detected, and click Next.

8.Click Finish to close the Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port Wizard dialog box, and then click Close from the Printer Ports dialog box.

9.Click Ports in the Properties dialog box, and then click Configure Port.

The Configure Standard TCP/IP Port Monitor dialog box appears.

10.Select LPR.

11.Enter the queue name. direct

print hold

NOTE: The hold and print queues are available only with the HDD option.

12.Click OK to close the Configure Standard TCP/IP Port Monitor dialog box.

Completing the Windows NT 4.0 and/or Windows 2000 IPX (Novell) connection

NOTE: The procedures for completing the IPX (Novell) connection for Windows NT 4.0 and/or Windows 2000 are similar. Windows NT 4.0 screen captures are used with relevant Windows 2000 differences noted.

Complete the setup for the IPX (Novell) connection as follows:

Configure the Novell network and file server for handling GA-1040 print jobs. The file server should be configured with a print server and print connection for the GA-1040. For details, see your NetWare documentation.

Prepare the GA-1040 for IPX printing.

Set up the IPX connection on the workstation.

NetWare protocols (NWLink IPX/SPX Compatible Transport) and NetWare client services should already be installed on the Windows NT 4.0 and/or Windows 2000 workstation.
