Switching Temporarily to Tone Dialing

Many information services for banks, airline reservations, hotel reservations, etc., require tone dialing for their services. If your machine is connected to a rotary pulse line, follow this procedure to set the machine temporarily for tone dialing:

1Press FAX to set to Fax Mode.

2Pick up the handset of your telephone.

3Enter a destination using the numeric keys on your telephone or using a one-touch speed dialing key, coded speed dialing code, Redial/Pause key or the numeric keys on the machine.

4When the recorded message of the

information service answers, press T (Tone) to switch to tone dialing.

Ex:

When T (Tone) is pressed, T is displayed in the LCD.

If your telephone line uses tone dialing, go to the

next step.

Use the numeric keys on the machine to enter the numbers requested by the information service.

Ex:

Numbers entered after pressing T (Tone) will be dialed using tone dialing.

After pressing T (Tone), you cannot use the numeric keys on the telephone. Use the numeric keys on the machine.

If you want to receive faxes, press Start.

Hang up to disconnect the call.

Tone dialing is canceled when you disconnect the call.
