[A] Using USB cable

It is possible to do the following things:

Transfer still images stored on a memory card to a PC.

System Requirements

Windows®

OS: Windows® Me/2000/XP (pre-installed)

Connector: USB connector (standard equipment of the computer)

It is not possible to connect to Windows® 98/98SE PCs. Use the optional USB reader/writer CU- VUSD70, the PC card adapter CU-VPSD60 or the floppy disk adapter CU-VFSD50.

Macintosh

OS: Mac OS 9.0.4 to 9.2.2

Mac OS X 10.1.5/10.2.1 to 10.2.8/ 10.3.1 to 10.3.2 Connector: USB connector (standard equipment of the computer)

[B] Using i.LINK cable

It is also possible to transfer still/moving images to a PC with an i.LINK connector by using the software equipped with the PC or commercially available software.

Set “i.LINK OUT” to “SW”. ( pg. 28)

Set the i.Link Output Select Switch on this player to the appropriate mode ( pg. 33);

“DV”: when using the DV editing software

“MPEG2”: when using the MPEG2 editing software

Set the i.Link Output Select Switch to the appro- priate mode before connecting the i.Link cable.

NOTES:

It is recommended to use the AC Power Adapter/ Charger as the power supply instead of the battery pack. ( pg. 10)

Never connect the USB cable and the i.LINK cable simultaneously to the player. Connect only the cable you wish to use to the player.

Do not connect the player through a hub.

When using an i.LINK cable, be sure to use the optional JVC VC-VDV206U or VC-VDV204U i.LINK cable depending on the type of i.LINK connector (4 or 6 pins) on the PC.

If the PC connected to the player via the USB cable is not powered, the player does not enter the USB mode.

The date/time information cannot be captured into the PC.

Refer to the instruction manuals of the PC and Software.

The still images can also be transferred to a PC with an i.LINK connector-equipped capture board.

The system may not work properly depending on the PC or capture board you are using.

“USB MODE” and/or “ACCESSING FILES” appears on the LCD monitor while the PC is accessing data in the player or the player is transferring a file to the PC.

NEVER disconnect the USB cable while

“ACCESSING FILES” is displayed on the LCD monitor since this can result in product damage.
