!An adjusted time alignment is memorized in TA CUSTOM.

1Press AUDIO and hold until FRONT ap- pears in the display, then press AUDIO to

select FL.

# When you select TA OFF in TA INTIAL, you

cannot select FL.

# If a position other than FRT-L or FRT-R is se- lected, CHECK POSI is displayed. To set the posi- tion, refer to Using the position selector on page

2Press cor dto select the speaker to be adjusted.

Each press of cor dselects the speaker in the following order:

FL (front speaker left)—CENT (center speaker)

—FR (front speaker right)—RR (rear speaker right)— RL(rear speaker left)— S/W(subwoo-

fer)

# You cannot select speakers whose size is set at OFF. (Refer to Setting the speaker setting on page 76.)

3Press aor bto adjust the distance be- tween the selected speaker and the listen- ing position.

Each press of aor bincreases or decreases the distance. 0.0 to 500.0 is displayed as the distance is increased or decreased.

4Press BAND to return to the playback display.

Using the equalizer

The equalizer lets you adjust the equalization to match car interior acoustic characteristics as desired.

Recalling equalizer curves

There are seven stored equalizer curves which you can easily recall at any time. Here is a list of the equalizer curves:

!CUSTOM 1 and CUSTOM 2 are adjusted equalizer curves.

!When EQ FLAT is selected no supplement or correction is made to the sound. This is useful to check the effect of the equalizer curves by switching alternatively between EQ FLAT and a set equalizer curve.

%Press EQ to select the equalizer.

Press EQ repeatedly to switch between the fol- lowing equalizers:

POWERFUL (PWRFL)—NATURAL—VOCAL— EQ FLAT—CUSTOM 1—CUSTOM 2—

Adjusting 3-band parametric equalizer

For CUSTOM 1 and CUSTOM 2 equalizer curves, you can adjust the front, rear and cen- ter equalizer curves separately by selecting a center frequency, an equalizer level and a Q factor for each band.

!A separate CUSTOM 1 curve can be cre- ated for each source.

!A CUSTOM 2 curve can be created com- mon to all sources.
