Using the sleep timer

 

Enjoying multi-channel software

 

 

 

Use this feature to automatically set this unit in the standby mode after a certain amount of time. The sleep timer is useful when you are going to sleep while this unit is playing or recording a source.

If you connected a surround back speaker, use this feature to enjoy 6.1-channel playback for multi-channel sources using the Dolby Digital Pro Logic IIx, Dolby Digital Surround EX or DTS-ES decoders.

Press EX/ES on the remote control to switch between 5.1- and 6.1-channel playback.

To select a decoder, press l/ h repeatedly when PLIIx Music (etc.) is displayed.

Each time you press SLEEP, the front panel display changes as shown

below. The SLEEP indicator flashes while switching the amount of time for the sleep timer.

SLEEP OFF SLEEP 30min. SLEEP 60min.

The “SLEEP” indicator lights up on the front panel display after the sleep timer has been set.

Canceling the sleep timer

Press SLEEP repeatedly on the remote control until “SLEEP OFF” appears on the front panel display. After a few seconds, “SLEEP OFF” disappears, and the “SLEEP” indicator goes off.

The sleep timer setting can also be canceled by pressing STANDBY on the remote control (or STANDBY/ON on the front panel) to set this unit to the standby mode.

AUTO

When a signal (flag) that can be recognized by the unit is input, the unit selects the optimum decoder for playing back the signal in 6.1 channels. If the unit cannot recognize the flag or no flag is present in the input signal, it cannot automatically be played in 6.1 channels.

Decoders (select with l / h)

You can select from the following modes depending on the format of the software you are playing.

PLIIx Music

For playing back Dolby Digital or DTS signals in 6.1 channels using the Pro Logic IIx decoder.

EX/ES

For playing back Dolby Digital signals in 6.1 channels using the Dolby Digital Surround EX decoder.

DTS signals are played back in 6.1 channels using the DTS-ES decoder.

OFF

For playing back Dolby Digital or DTS signals in 5.1 channels.
