Virtual CINEMA DSP

Selecting input modes

Virtual CINEMA DSP allows you to enjoy the CINEMA DSP programs without surround speakers. It creates virtual speakers to reproduce the natural sound field.

If you do not connect surround speakers, Virtual CINEMA DSP activates automatically whenever you select a CINEMA DSP sound field program.

Note

Virtual CINEMA DSP will not activate, even when Surround L/R is set to “None” (see page 41), in the following cases:

When the 6ch Stereo, DOLBY DIGITAL, Pro Logic, Pro Logic II, or DTS program is selected.

When the sound effect is turned off.

When a digital signal with a sampling frequency greater than 48 kHz is input to this unit.

When using the test tone; or effect.

When headphones are connected.

This unit comes with a variety of input jacks. Do the following to select the type of input signals you want to use.

Use this feature to designate the input mode for sources connected to the DIGITAL INPUT jacks when you turn on this unit (see page 44 for details about the input mode).

Use this menu to manually adjust any input setting.
