WebCAM is a compact stand-alone web-server capable of remote video surveillance. It can be accessed from anywhere in the world via a standard browser by entering the IP Address, account and password. Each system can support two types of USB PC cameras. This can be regular USB camera, or one that has infra-red built-in or even with Pan-Tilt. The server function allows WebCAM to stream video images directly to the Internet without having to go through a computer.

WebCAM features a Windows-based software that allows the user to archive streaming video directly to the viewer’s hard-drive. The same software also allows the user to monitor multiple cameras on one screen.

Section 2. WebCAM as a Remote Surveillance System

Once WebCAM is installed, the user can check any of the connected PC cameras using a standard web browser. The user can monitor and control these cameras simply by entering the IP address shown on the LCD into a Browser.
