3 Press PTY SELECT + or PTY SELECT – to select a PTY

code while “PTY SELECT” is flashing.

Each time you press the button, the PTY codes change as follows (refer also to the list on page 23):

4 Press PTY again.

While searching, the selected PTY code appears and “SEARCH” flashes in the main display.

Ex. When “Info” is selected

The unit searches 30 preset FM stations, and stops when it finds the one you have selected, and tunes into that station.

To continue searching after the first stop

Press PTY again while the indications in the main display are flashing. If no program is found, “NOT FOUND” appears in the main display and the unit returns to the last received station.

To stop searching any time during the process

Press PTY while searching.

Switching to a Program Type of Your Choice Temporarily

The Enhanced Other Networks function allows the unit to switch temporarily to a broadcast program of your choice (TA, News, and/or Info) from a different station except when you are listening to a non-RDS station—some FM stations and AM (MW/LW) stations.

This function only works while receiving a preset RDS station sending the data required for this function.

On the remote control ONLY:

1 Press RDS CONTROL while listening to an FM station.

2 Press TA/News/Info repeatedly until the Enhanced

Networks data type you want is selected.

The name of the selected Enhanced Other Networks data type —TA/News/Info—lights up on the display.

TA : Traffic announcement

News : News

Info : Programs the purpose of which is to impart advice in the widest sense.

All off : The Enhanced Other Networks function is canceled.

Each time you press the button, the data types change as follows:

News Info =TA Info =TA News Info =

All off (canceled) =(back to the beginning)

The indicator(s) corresponding to the selected data type lights up on the display.

To cancel this function, press TA/News/Info repeatedly so that the TA/News/Info indicators all go off.

If you cancel this function while receiving a program selected by this function, the unit goes back to the previously tuned station.
