Assigning Titles to Albums and Tracks

You can assign a title to each album and track. Once a title is assigned, it is displayed during playback.

The maximum number of the characters used for each title is 64.

When you want to change the libraries’ names, see “Changing the Library Names—LIB. NAME” on page 57.

In the following examples, the processes are explained assuming that the unit is turned on.

To exit from the title entry screen any time during the process, press TITLE/EDIT.

To return to the previous screen any time during the process, press CANCEL (except while the title entry screen is shown).

You cannot enter Title/Edit modes during Random play and Search Modes.

Library play, Album play, and Repeat play are canceled when you press TITLE/EDIT (Continuous

play will resume).

You can also assign a name to an album and track currently recorded while recording.

To assign a title to an album

On the remote control ONLY:

1 Press TITLE/EDIT once.

The source changes to “HDD” automatically if another source has been selected.

Each time you press the button, Title/Edit modes change as follows:

TITLE? LIB. EDIT? ALBUM EDIT?

(Library edit)

Canceled TRACK EDIT?

2 Press SET.

Each time you press SELECT ¢ or SELECT 4, the album title entry mode or the track title entry mode (“TRACK?” or “ALBUM?”) is alternately selected.

3 Press SET again.

The unit enters the album title entry mode.

Currently selected album number appears first.

4 Press ALBUM + or ALBUM – to select the album you want to assign a title to, then press SET.

The album title entry screen appears in the main display.

• If a title has been assigned, it will appear.

5 Assign the title.

1)Press DISP/CHARA to select the character set you want.

Each time you press the button, the character sets change as follows:

Capital letters

 

Small letters

& Symbols

 

& Symbols

Numerals

2)Press the character entry button for a character you want to enter.

Examples:

 

• To enter an “A” or “a,” press

ABC once.

To enter a “B” or “b,” press

ABC twice.

To enter a “C” or “c,” press

ABC three times.

To enter a symbol, press MARK repeatedly until the symbol you want appears (see page 40 for available symbols).

To enter a numeral, press 0 9.

To enter a space while entering a title, press twice.

To insert a character, press or to move the character entry position, then press a character entry button.

To erase a character, press or to move the character entry position, then press CANCEL.

3)Repeat steps 5 – 1) and5 – 2) to enter other characters.

If the character you want to enter next is assigned to the same button you have just pressed in step

5 – 2), press once to move the character entry position to the right.
