E. Chimney Requirements

When planning your fireplace location, the chimney construc- tion and necessary clearances must be considered. The fire- place system and chimney components have been tested to provide flexibility in construction. The following figures are the minimum distances from the base of the fireplace.

Minimum overall straight height is 6 ft 4 in. if the fireplace is freestanding and a minimum of 10 ft from a combustible structure. See Figure 3.2.

Chimney must extend 2 ft (.6 m) above any portion of the roof within 10 ft (3 m) of the chimney. Refer to Figure 6.1.
