Batteries and charging

24V 6A charger indicator lights

The charger has 4 light indicators, each is clearly marked on the label to show their function (Fig. 53).

Yellow - mains On

This will illuminate when the mains plug is connected to the mains supply and the mains is switched on.

Orange - charging

This will illuminate a few seconds after connection, indicating that charging of the batteries is taking place.

Yellow - bulk charge complete

This will illuminate when the battery is about 85% - 90% charged. This can be anywhere between 4 hours and 11 hours after commencement

of charging, depending on the Fig. 53 discharged state of the batteries.

The ‘charging’ light will remain on.

Green - charge complete

This will illuminate when the battery is fully charged. This can be anywhere from 8.5 hours to

14.5hours after commencement of charging, depending on how discharged the batteries were. The ‘mains’ light will remain on. Please note that after the charge complete light has illuminated, the charger will continue to charge the batteries. However the charging and ‘bulk charge’ complete light will not be illuminated at this point. Following a further period of time the charger will switch to a ‘float voltage’ setting. It can therefore be left on indefinitely.

Yellow ‘mains on’

Orange ‘charging’
