34 Base settings
Set the dial mode
Your BT Freestyle 6100 is set to Tone dialling. This is suitable for most domestic use. It is unlikely you will need to change this setting unless you are connected to a switchboard which requires Pulse dialling.
IMPORTANT
If you change the system PIN, keep a record of the new number by writing in the space provided on
page 47.
1.Select Menu, scroll or to Set Base and select OK.
2.Scroll or to Dial Mode and select OK.
3.Use or to choose Tone or Pulse, then select OK. Saved is briefly displayed.
4.Press to exit.
Change the system PIN
The system PIN is required when registering additional handsets and bases with your BT Freestyle 6100 (see page 36).It acts as a security device to prevent unauthorised changes to your phone system. The default system PIN is 0 0 0 0 , so you may choose to change this to a more personal number.
1.Select Menu, scroll to Set Base and select OK.
2.Scroll to System PIN and select OK.
3.The display shows Old PIN. Enter the current system PIN (default: 0 0 0 0 ). The digits you enter are displayed as underscores (i.e.
