Intercom/Locator

Intercom

Intercom calls can be made between the base unit and handset.

Note:

LIf you receive an outside call while talking on the intercom, you hear ringer tones.

Base unit: Selected ringer tone for outside call (page 15)

Handset: “Tone 1(page 15)

To answer the call Base unit:

If you use the corded handset, place the corded handset on the cradle, then lift the corded handset.

If you use the speakerphone, press {SP- PHONE} 2 times.

Handset:

– Press {i}, then press {C}.

Making an intercom call

=Base unit

1{INTERCOM}

L Lift the corded handset if needed.

L To stop paging, press {INTERCOM}.

L If voice paging is turned on (page 28), speak into the microphone after the 2 rings.

2When you finish talking, press {INTERCOM} or place the corded handset on the cradle.

YHandset

1{INTERCOM}

L To stop paging, press {i}.

L If voice paging is turned on (page 28), speak into the microphone after the 2 rings.

2When you finish talking, press {i}.

Note:

LDuring an intercom call, you cannot switch to the speakerphone.

Voice paging

If this feature is turned on and when you make an intercom call, speak into the microphone after the 2 rings. Your voice announcement is heard through the other party’s speaker. The default setting is Off.

Answering an intercom call

=Base unit

1Lift the corded handset or press {INTERCOM} to answer the page.

2When you finish talking, place the corded handset on the cradle or press {INTERCOM}.

1Press {C} to answer the page.

L Even if you press {s} to answer the page, the speakerphone mode is not available.

2When you finish talking, press {i}.

Note for handset and base unit:

LWhen the ringer volume for outside calls is set to off (page 15), the handset and/or base unit rings at a low level for intercom calls.

Transferring calls, conference calls

Outside calls can be transferred between the base unit and handset. The base unit and handset can have a conference call with an outside party.

=Base unit

1During an outside call, press {INTERCOM} to put the call on hold.

L If voice paging is turned on (page 28), speak into the microphone after the 2 rings.

2Wait for the paged party to answer.

L If the paged party does not answer, press {INTERCOM} to return to the outside call.
