ENGINEER'S SPECIFICATION GUIDE Ð HIGH WALL FAN COIL UNITS (Model 619E)

GENERAL: Furnish and install indoor, wall-mounted, draw-thru, direct expansion, indoor cooling only or heat pump fan coil unit to be used without ductwork. Unit shall consist of tangential, direct-drive fan, fan motor, cooling coil, piping connectors, elec- trical controls, microprocessor control system, and integral tem- perature sensing. Unit shall be capable of being used in a refrigerant circuit with a matching air-cooled outdoor condens- ing unit.

Nominal unit electrical characteristics shall be v, single

phase, 60 Hz. The unit shall be capable of satisfactory operation

within voltage limits of

v to

v.

Unit shall be capable of providing a constant volume of air at a speci®ed external static pressure within the unit nominal oper- ating range.

MAXIMUM DIMENSIONS: Indoor unit Ð width

in.,

depth

in., height

inches.

CABINET: Cabinet discharge and inlet grilles shall be attrac- tively styled, high-impact polystyrene. Cabinet shall be fully in- sulated for improved thermal and acoustic performance.

FAN SECTION: Fan shall be tangential direct-drive blower type with air intake at the upper front face of the unit and discharge at the bottom front. Automatic, motor-driven horizontal air sweep shall be provided standard.

Air sweep operation shall be user selectable. Vertical direction may be manually adjusted and horizontal air sweep may be manually set.

COIL SECTION: Coil shall be copper tube with aluminum ®ns and galvanized steel tube sheets. Fins shall be bonded to the tubes by mechanical expansion. A drip pan under the coil shall have a drain connection for hose attachment to remove conden- sate. Condensate pan shall have internal trap and auxiliary drip pan under coil header.

NOTE: The 009 and 012 units use capillary tubes in the OUT- DOOR unit for refrigerant control, and the 018,024 units use the accessory AccuRater piston refrigerant metering device in the INDOOR unit except systems using 538S outdoor units. These systems have a thermostatic expansion valve in the outdoor unit.

CONTROLS: Controls shall consist of a microprocessor-based control system which shall provide the following functions as a minimum: automatic restart, a timer function, temperature- sensing controls, evaporator coil freeze protection, wireless in- frared remote control, auto. stop features, automatic airsweep control, dehumidi®cation mode, fan-only operation, diagnostics, a 25-ft indoor-to-outdoor thermistor connection cable, user- selectable fan speed control, compressor restart time delay, and condenser high-temperature protection.

ACCESSORIES: Condensate pump.
