1.Remove the four bolts (ref# 9) and
pull intake endcap (ref# 11), from the pump. The endcap should separate from the material head (ref# 21), with the ball guide (ref# 17) attached. If the ball guide remains in the material head, pry out with a screw driver.
2.Clamp endcap in vise with the ball guide facing up.
3.Pry off the ball guide and remove intake ball (ref# 14) and spring (ref# 15).

13.Install the entire endcap assembly onto the material head with the four bolts (ref# 9). Torque bolts, using a crisscross pattern, to 20 ft. lbs. Repeat torquing procedure using 30 ft. lbs.
NOTE: Effective March 1997, and beginning with serial number 140056, a new style Hydrapulse “Intake” assembly is used. The changes effect the Endcap (ref# 11), Crush Washer (ref # 12), Ball Guide (ref# 17), Ball Stop (ref# 18), and the Material Head (ref# 21). The most significant change is to the endcap. Gone is the
