Setup for Measuring Thermocouple Temperature using an External Multimeter
The thermocouple terminal module automatically configures the HP E1353A FET Multiplexer Module for thermocouple readings. The multimeter measures the resistance of a thermistor on the terminal module to provide a reference temperature. This reference temperature is used to compensate for the change in temperature between the thermocouple (desired measurement) and the terminal temperature (see “Comments” later in this section).
Figure 3-7 shows how to set up channel 01 of a single module switchbox to measure temperature using a thermocouple and an external multimeter.
