11 Shrouds

A. HHT Shrouds

•You may install a shroud with this ﬁreplace. See Section 17.D. for a list of UL Listed shrouds. Follow the instructions included with these optional components

B. Field Constructed Shrouds

WARNING! Risk of Fire! Shrouds must be constructed as speciﬁed. Improper construction may overheat chase top.

•Chase top shrouds may be ﬁeld constructed where permitted by regional building codes.

NOTICE: Some regional codes require an agency-Listed shroud. Consult your local building ofﬁcials.

•The following ﬁeld constructed shroud designs have been tested for Hearth Technologies ﬁreplace systems and termination caps.

•The shrouds must be constructed from a minimum .018 in. (26 ga) thick aluminized steel.

•The wire mesh is optional but recommended and must be .018 in. thick minimum, 1/2 in. mesh.
