1.If the surround panel is installed, remove it by lifting the panel straight up then out.

2.For the right shroud, twist the handle on the air control clockwise to remove it from the rod.

3.Pull unit forward a few inches, if possible.

4.Remove the screw, using a 5/16” socket or wrench, that goes down through the firebox top into a bent over tab at the top of the shroud (see A in Figure 51).

5.The shrouds can be removed one of two ways:

a.For the first method, pull the inside edge of the shroud straight out, approximately 3⁄4” (2cm), in order to unhook the shroud from unit. Pull the shroud out through the side.

b.For the second method (recommended for the right shroud), remove the two (2) T-20 screws that hold the shroud to the unit (see B in Figure 51). Pull the shroud out through the side.

6.To install the shroud, follow steps 1 through 5 in reverse order. Ensure the shrouds are hooked behind both screws on either side.

INSTALLATION OF THE DECORATIVE PLATES - INSERT:

1.Remove the shroud from the unit (refer to “REMOVAL OF THE SHROUDS -

INSERT”)

2.Remove the fan from the left shroud (refer to ”FAN REMOVAL - INSERT”)

3.Unfasten the two (2) nuts that secure the plate to the shroud. The nuts should only be hand-tightened but a 5/16” wrench may be required.

4.Remove the old plate from the shroud and remove the vibration bumper from the plate. Leave the washers on the shroud.

5.Install the vibration bumper into the new decorative plate and install new plate onto the shroud.

6.Hand-tighten the two (2) nuts back into place.

7.Re-install the fan into the left shroud.

8.Re-install the shrouds onto the unit.
