Installation Configurations / Standard Venting Options This appliance may be connected to an existing flue or by installing listed type “PL” vent pipe. If a liner is run all the way to the top of the existing chimney, the existing flue should be sealed with a steel plate. Start a vertical run with a Tee at the back of the stove. Preferred Installation – Vertical Vent Through the Roof. This venting configuration allows for the best stove performance. The vertical pipe promotes natural draft and with the chimney inside the dwelling, the flue gases stay warm, thus rising at a consistent rate.
