USING THE SELF-CLEANING CYCLE

SETTING THE CONTROLS (CONT.)

8.After the oven cools to room temperature, wipe off any residue or ash with a damp cloth or sponge. If needed, touch up spots with a mild abrasive cleanser

or cleaning sponge.

To stop the self-cleaning cycle at any time:

If the oven temperature is too high for baking/ roasting when you press the off/cancel pad, “cln,” TIMED, ON, “cool,” and LOCKED will appear on the display until the oven cools.

Self-cleaning tips

Keep the kitchen well ventilated during the Self-Cleaning cycle to help get rid of heat, odors, and smoke.

Clean the oven before it gets heavily soiled. Cleaning a very soiled oven takes longer and results in more smoke than usual.

HOW THE CYCLE WORKS

The Self-Cleaning cycle uses very high heat to burn away soil and grease. During the cycle, the oven gets much hotter than it does for normal baking or broiling. This high heat breaks up the soil or grease and burns it away.

Your oven is automatically preset for a 312-hour Self-Cleaning cycle.

The graph at the right shows you what happens in a 312-hour Self-Cleaning cycle. Notice that the heating stops 12 hour before the 312-hour setting is up.
