Troubleshooting
Performance problems often result from little things you can find and fix without tools of any kind. Please check the chart below for problems you can fix. It could save you the cost of a service call.
PROBLEM
Unit does not run
Unit runs but produces no ice
Unit runs but produces very little ice
Grid is not cutting ice sheets
Taste in ice cubes
POSSIBLE CAUSE
lCycle Control Knob must be in the “CM”position.
lCheck to see that power cord is plugged in.
l Check for blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker in electrical supply to machine.
l Room temperature must be above 66°F (13°C). Otherwise, bin thermo- stat may sense cold room temperature and shut off even though bin is not full of ice. Also, unit may not restart once it does shut off.
l Cycle Control Knob must be in the “ON”position.
lCheck water supply to make sure it is open.
lIf ice machine is operated at an elevation of 2,000 feet (0.6 km) or more above sea level, both the bin thermostat and ice thickness thermostat need to be recalibrated. See Installation Instructions.
l Room temperature may be extremety high, more than 90°F (32°C). In this case, it is normal for ice production to be low.
lDirt or lint may be blocking the air flow through the condenser. Condenser needs to be cleaned.
lCheck to see if the unit has a scale buildup in water and freezing system. Clean, if necessary.
l Check the grid harness plug to make sure the connection is secure.
l There may be an unusually high mineral content in water supply. Water may need to be filtered or treated.
lDo not store any foods in the ice bin.
l Packaging material not all removed.
