REMOVING THE MOWER DECK

Beforeperforminganytypeof maintenanceonthe machine,waitfor all partsto stopmovinganddisconnectthe sparkplugwire,Failure to followthisinstructioncould resultin personaliniuryor property damage,

REMOVING THE BELT COVER

Thebelt covermustberemovedto performseveralmaintenanceand serviceprocedures,Followthe instructionsbelowto removethe belt cover,

1, Stopengine,waitfor all partsto stopmoving,anddisconnect sparkplugwire,

2, Removethe threescrewsandwashersholdingthe coverto the frame,Figure14,

3, Removethe belt cover,

4, Toreinstallthe beltcover,placethe coverinpositionandfasten usingthreescrewsandwashersremovedearlier,

Donot operateunit withoutbeltcoverinstalled,Failuretofollowthis instructioncouldresultin personaliniuryor propertydamage,

Whenservicingthe undersideof the mowerdeckforany reason,the cuttingdeckshouldfirst beremoved,Followthe instructionsbelowto removethe cuttingdeck:

1, Stoptheengine,waitfor allpartsto stopmoving,anddisconnect sparkplugwire,

2, Releaseall mowercontrols,

3, Removebelt coveras instructedunder"'Removingthe BeltCover,"

4, Usethe deckheightleverto movethe cuttingdeckto its highestposition,

5, Placesmallwoodenblocksunderthe deck,

6, Usethe deckheightleverto lowerthe deckso thatit restsupon the woodenblocks,

7, Lookingat thecuttingdeckfromthe leftside of the mower,locate the hairpinclip thatsecuresthe decksupportrodon the rearleft side of the deck,Figure15,

I8, Removethe hairpinclip thatsecuresthe supportrod, andcare-

fully removethe decksupportfromthedeck liftarm,Figure15,

9,

Repeatsteps7 and8 onthe mower'srightside,When complete,

 

all four hairpinclipsshouldbe removed,

 

10,

Pushthe cuttingdeckto the leftto unhookthe liftassemblyfrom

 

 

the deck,

 

11,

Usethe deckheightleverto raisethe cuttingdeckto its highest

 

 

position,

 

12,

Removethe woodenblocksfromunderthe deck,

 

13,

Removethe drivebelt as instructedunder"Replacingthe Drive

 

 

Belt"instructions,

 

14,

Slidethe cuttingdecktowardsthe rearof the unit,

 

15,

Unhookthe drivespringcane fromthe idlerarmassembly,
