OPERATING YOUR DR 10 HP CHIPPER

This chapter covers the procedures for starting and stopping your new DR 10 HP CHIPPER and discusses basic operation features.

THE DESIGN OF THIS CHIPPER IS FOR CHIPPING LIMBS OR BRANCHES. NEVER USE THIS MACHINE FOR ANY OTHER PURPOSE AS IT COULD CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY.

CONTACT WITH INTERNAL ROTATING PARTS WILL CAUSE SERIOUS PERSONAL INJURY. NEVER PUT HANDS, FACE, FEET, OR CLOTHING INTO CHIPPER HOPPER OR DISCHARGE OPENING OR NEAR THE DISCHARGE AREA AT ANY TIME.

BEFORE PERFORMING ANY MAINTENANCE PROCEDURE OR INSPECTION, STOP THE ENGINE, WAIT FIVE (5) MINUTES TO ALLOW ALL MOVING PARTS TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP AND COOL. DISCONNECT THE SPARK PLUG WIRE, KEEPING IT AWAY FROM THE SPARK PLUG. USE ONLY A WOODEN STICK TO CLEAR JAMMED MATERIAL AFTER ALL MOVING PARTS HAVE STOPPED COMPLETELY.

Before Starting the Engine

1.Check the oil level every time you use the DR 10 HP CHIPPER.

2.Check the gas level.

3.Turn the Gas Shut-Off valve to the OPEN position (Figure 3).

4.Remove any debris buildup from the machine.
