CONFIGURING RFC 1483 BRIDGING/ROUTING SESSIONS

You can configure the modem as a bridge to forward Ethernet data based on MAC addresses, as a router to route Ethernet-encapsulated IP datagrams based on IP addresses, or as both. From the EasySession pages, configure parameters for communicating between the modem and the service provider over the WAN (page 38). Then, configure parameters for communicating between the LAN and the modem (page 41). After setting up all appropriate Bridge/Router WAN and LAN parameters, select the sessions that you want to activate (see page 46).

1Click EasySession on the Main Menu to access the EasySession page.

2Click Edit next to any Port 1-32field to display the Brouter WAN Port Configuration page for the selected port.
