Combining Parameters for Signal Generation Using the Agilent 81133A/81134A Pulse Generator
Agilent 81133A/81134A Pulse Generator User’s Guide, January 2005 69
Data in either RZ, R1 or NRZ format
Pseudo random bit stream (PRBS) polynomials
For details on these signals, see “Pattern Modes” on page 70.
•Burst Mode
This mode enables you to generate a burst consisting of data
repeated n times followed by continuous zero dat a.
In Burst mode, exactly one burst of d ata is output after either:
Applying a ext ernal signal at the start input.
Asserting a manual trigger on one of the remote int erfaces.
Pressing the start button on the user interface.
A burst consists of data packets repeated a selectable number of
times (in data pattern mode).
• R epetitive Burst Mode
This mode enables you to generate a rep etitive burst consisting of
data repeated n times. A pause of zeros is inserted between two
successive bursts.
The repetitive burst is specified by two numb ers. The first number
(n) defines how often the specified data is repeated. The second
number ( p) define s the leng th of the pause tha t follows th e repeat ed
data.
The length of the pause is calculated by:
p x Length of Data Packets
