The following options, in Table16-4, are available for most but not all log channel options. They are discussed here for convenience and will not be repeated since they appear for each of the destination types described later in this section.

Format Timestamp
This checkbox controls whether 8950
AAA includes the timestamp in the logged
message.
For example, 2008/01/21 13:45:30.870
is the timestamp in the following message:
2003/01/21 13:45:30.870 <nr.setup>
8950 AAA: Starting server

Format Area
This checkbox controls whether 8950
AAA includes the log area in the log
message.
The log area is the part of the 8950 AAA
server which logged the message.
For example, <nr.setup> is the log area in
the following message:
2008/01/21 13:45:30.870 <nr.setup>

Format Level
This pull-down provides three options for
defining how the log level is formatted
within a log message. The options are:
OFF - Never include the log level in
the message.
AUTO - Include the log level in the log
message only when the level is more
severe than Info, that is, Notice,
Warn ing , or Error.
ON - Always include the log level in
the message.
