6Select the frequency by turning the Rotary encoder, then press MODE.

Adjustable frequency:

FRONT/REAR/CENTER: 20Hz - 20kHz (in 1/3 octave steps)

SUBWOOFER:20Hz - 160Hz (in 1/3 octave steps)

7Adjust the level (LEVEL) (±9dB 1dB step) by turning the Rotary encoder, then press MODE.

8To adjust other frequencies, repeat steps 6 and 7.

9To adjust other channels, repeat steps 5 to 8.

10 When the setting is complete, press and hold MUTE for at least 2 seconds.

The unit returns to the normal mode.

•When the speaker is set to the “OFF” mode, the level of the graphic equalizer for that speaker cannot be adjusted. Refer to “Setting the Speakers” (page 36).

•Check the playable frequency ranges of the connected speakers before making the equalizer adjustments. If the speaker’s playable frequency range is 55 Hz to 30 kHz, for example, adjusting the 40 Hz or 20 Hz band has no effect. Additionally, you may overload and damage the speakers.

•When graphic EQ is adjusted, the adjustment for parametric EQ becomes ineffective.

•When the setting is complete, it is recommended to store the setting contents. For storing, refer to page 43.

Parametric Equalizer Adjustments

The frequency bands of the graphic equalizer are fixed. This makes it very difficult to correct for undesired peaks and dips at specific frequencies. The parametric equalizer’s center frequency can be tuned to these specific frequencies. Then, the bandwidth (Q) and level are fine-tuned, independently, to make the necessary corrections. The parametric equalizer function is an advanced tool for serious audiophiles.

1Check that Defeat mode is off (page 21).

2Press and hold MUTE for at least 2 seconds.

The audio processor control mode is activated.

3Select the P-EQ mode by pressing MUTE repeatedly.

4Select L+R or L/R by pressing and holding BAND for at least 2 seconds.

L+R: Sets the same adjustment values for the left and right channels.

L/R: Different adjustment values can be set for the left and right channels.

When graphic EQ is adjusted, this setting will be turned off.

5Select the desired channel by pressing or , then press MODE.

When L+R is selected :

FRONT REAR CENTER SUBWOOFER FRONT

When L/R is selected :

FRONT L FRONT R REAR L REAR R CENTER

SUBWOOFER FRONT L

•The speakers display differs, depending on the connected speakers.

6Press BAND to select the band.

Adjustable bands:

FRONT/REAR/CENTER: 5 bands

SUBWOOFER: 2 bands

7Select the frequency by turning the Rotary encoder, then press MODE.

The adjustable frequency changes according the band.

8Adjust the band width (Q) by turning the Rotary encoder, then press MODE.

The band width is adjustable in 6 steps: 0.5/1/2/3/4/5

9Adjust the level (LEVEL) (±9dB 1dB step) by turning the Rotary encoder, then press MODE.

10 To adjust other bands, repeat steps 6 to 9.

11 To adjust other channels, repeat steps 5 to 10.

12 When the setting is complete, press and hold MUTE for at least 2 seconds.

The unit returns to the normal mode.

•It is not possible to adjust the frequencies of adjacent bands within 7 steps.
