Setting Bass Compressor
You can adjust the sound of low frequencies as desired.
1Check that Defeat mode is off (page 21).
2Press and hold MUTE for at least 2 seconds.
The audio processor control mode is activated.
3Select the BASS SOUND mode by pressing MUTE.
4Select BASS COMP. by pressing or , then press MODE.
5Select the desired mode by turning the Rotary encoder.
Bass sound is emphasized more as the mode is
sequentially switched as COMP1 2 3, offering you vivid low frequencies.
Select OFF when the setting is not necessary.
6When the setting is complete, press and hold MUTE for at least 2 seconds.
The unit returns to the normal mode.
Setting Bass Focus
Using the previously specified delay number (time difference) allows you to set a time difference between the

2Press and hold MUTE for at least 2 seconds.
The audio processor control mode is activated.
3Select the BASS SOUND mode by pressing MUTE.
4Select BASS FOCUS by pressing or , then press MODE.
5Press MODE to select the front/rear/left/right speaker.
6Turn the Rotary encoder to set the front/rear and left/right speakers.
7To set other channels (speakers), repeat steps 5 and 6.
8When the setting is complete, press and hold MUTE for at least 2 seconds.
The unit returns to the normal mode.
•Any setting in Bass Focus is applied in time correction, too.
•When the setting is complete, it is recommended to store the setting contents. For storing, refer to page 43.
Speaker Setup
The
Check the playable frequency range of the speakers (not including the subwoofer) before performing this operation to verify whether the speakers can play low frequencies (of about 80 Hz or less).
•Avoid stopping, pausing, switching the disc, cueing,

3Select the SP SETUP mode by pressing MUTE repeatedly.
4Select the speaker by pressing MODE.
5Select the speaker characteristic by turning the Rotary encoder.
OFF*1: When no speaker is connected.
SMALL: When a speaker that cannot play low frequencies (80 Hz or less) is connected.
LARGE*2: When a speaker that can play low frequencies (80 Hz or less) is connected.
(Subwoofer is set to ON/OFF only)
*1 It is not possible to set the front speakers to “OFF”.
*2 If the front speakers are set to “SMALL”, the rear and center speakers cannot be set to “LARGE”.
6Repeat steps 4 and 5 to set each speaker.
7When the setting is complete, press and hold MUTE for at least 2 seconds.
The unit returns to the normal mode.
•If the center speaker is turned “OFF,” the center channel’s audio signals are added to the audio signals output from the front speakers.
•If you set the speaker response to “OFF,” also set the speaker setting to “OFF.” (page 36)
•Perform the setup for all the speakers (“Front,” “Center,” “Rear” and “Subwoofer”). If not, the sound may not be balanced.
•When center is set to “OFF”, the setting is ineffective even if center is set with this function.
•Through changing the settings on each speaker, a change in the output of the other speakers may occur due to the setting requirements.
•When using the PRO LOGIC II, if the rear speaker is set to “LARGE”, then there will be no output from the subwoofer.
•When the setting is complete, it is recommended to store the setting contents. For storing, refer to page 43.
