Setting the Speakers

1 Check that defeat mode is off.

2 Press SOURCE/POWER.

The main menu is displayed.

3 Press 4 (A.PROC).

The A.PROC (Audio processor) list display appears.

4 Turn the Rotary encoder to select SPEAKER SELECT.

The Function Guide changes.

5 Press 1 (SETUP).

The SPEAKER SELECT list display appears.

6 Turn the Rotary encoder to select a speaker to be set.

The Function Guide changes.

7 Press the function button to set the selected speaker.

FRONT1: OFF/FULL (Full Range)/TW (Tweeter)

FRONT2: OFF/ON

REAR: OFF/ON CENTER/SUBW.:

CENTER OFF/ON

SUB W. (Subwoofer) OFF/MONO/STEREO

Set the speaker which is not connected to OFF.

Settings above can be carried out even when the speaker is set to OFF in “Speaker Setup.”

In order to protect the speakers, if Tweeter is selected in Front 1, there is no filter OFF (slope OFF) setting for H.P.F.

For the same reason, the subwoofer low pass filter cannot be turned off (the slope cannot be set to “OFF”).

To use the subwoofer in MONO with PXA-H700 connected, connect the subwoofer to the subwoofer output terminal of PXA- H700.

Set MX Mode of the External Audio Processor

Before performing the operations below, set MX (Media Xpander ) mode of the external audio processor to “AUTO.”

1 Check that defeat mode is off.

2 Press SOURCE/POWER.

The main menu is displayed.

3 Press 4 (A.PROC).

The A.PROC (Audio processor) list display appears.

4 Turn the Rotary encoder to select “Media Xpander.”

The Function Guide changes.

5 Press 2 (ON), then press 3 (SETUP).

The MX list display appears.

OFF: To cancel MX mode for all music sources

6 Turn the Rotary encoder to select your desired MX mode.

The screen shows the *Function Guide.

* Displays the function assigned for each button.

7 Press the Function button to switch the setting.

The level of the audio source can be adjusted. It is after switching the audio source that the MX mode is applied.

MX CD (OFF, CD 1 to 3)

CD mode processes a large quantity of data. This data is used to reproduce the sound cleanly by making use of the data quantity.

MX MP3 (OFF, MP3 1 to 3) / MX XM (OFF, XM 1 to 3) / MX MD (OFF, MD 1 to 3)

This corrects information that was omitted at the time of compression. This reproduces a well-balanced sound close to the original.

MX FM (OFF, FM 1 to 3)

The medium to high frequencies become more clear, and produces well balanced sound in all the bands.

MX DVD (OFF, MOVIE 1 to 2)

The dialog portion of the video is reproduced more clearly.

(DVD MUSIC)

This disk contains a large quantity of data such as music clip. MX uses this data to reproduce the sound accurately.

MX AUX 1 to 3 (OFF, MP3, MOVIE, MUSIC)

Choose the MX mode (MP3, MUSIC, or MOVIE) that corresponds to the media connected.

To return to the previous display, press 7 (RETURN).

8 Press the function button to set the MX mode.

The contents of MX set here is reflected to PXA-H700.

When OFF is selected, MX effect of each MX mode will be OFF.

Each music source, such as radio, CD, and MP3 can have its own MX setting.

MX mode does not function when MX is ON for AM radio.

XM, MD or AUX is displayed only when each product is connected.
