Chapter 4. Hotkey Operation

Hotkey Beeper Control

The Beeper (see Activate Beeper, p. 27) can be Hotkey toggled On and Off. To toggle the Beeper, key in the following Hotkey combination:

1.Invoke Hotkey Mode (see p. 37).

2.Press [B]

The Beeper toggles On or Off. The Command Line displays Beeper On or Beeper Off for one second; then the message disappears and you automatically exit Hotkey Mode.

Hotkey Summary Table

The following table summarizes Hotkey operations on the KH98:

[Num Lock] + [*] or

[Port ID] [Enter]

Switches access to the computer that corresponds

[Num Lock] + [-]

 

to that Port ID.

 

 

 

 

[A] [nnn] [Enter]

Invokes Auto Scan mode and sets the Auto Scan interval to

nnn seconds - where nnn is a number from 1 to 255

 

[Q] [nnn] [Enter]

(0 disables this function). The default value is 5 seconds.

 

 

 

 

 

 

[B] or [b]

Toggles the Beeper On or Off.

 

 

 

 

[H] or [h]

Changes the Hotkey mode activation keys in use:

 

 

{ [Ctrl] + [F12] }.

 

 

 

 

[T] or [t]

Switches the OSD Hotkey mode activation keys:

 

 

{ [Scroll Lock] [Scroll Lock] or [Ctrl] [Ctrl] }.

 

 

 

 

[UPGRADE]

Activates the Firmware Upgrade mode.

 

[Enter] or

 

 

[upgrade] [Enter]

 

 

 

 

 

[R] [Enter]

Resets the Hotkey mode activation keys to their defaults.

 

or

 

 

[r] [Enter]

 

 

 

 

 

[P] [Enter]

If the KVM PET AUTO SWITCH option is enabled, the

 

 

KH98 will switch the focus to the PET alert sending server

 

 

and then display the PET alert information on the screen.

 

 

If this option is disabled, the KH98 will only display the PET

 

 

alert information on the screen.

 

 

 

[Esc] or [Space Bar]

If in Auto Scan Mode:

 

 

[Esc] stops Auto Scan and returns to the port where Auto

 

 

Scan was invoked.

 

 

[Spacebar] stops Auto Scan.

 

 

 

 

 

Exits the Hotkey mode.
