There are basically two conditions that call for firmware upgrade recovery:

When you invoke Firmware Upgrade Mode (see p. 29), but decide not to proceed with the upgrade.

When the Mainboard firmware upgrade fails.

To perform a firmware upgrade recovery, do the following:

1.Power off the switch.

2.Slide the Firmware Upgrade Recovery Switch (see p. 7) to the Recover position.

3.Use the Firmware Upgrade Cable (provided with this unit), to connect a COM port on your computer with the Firmware Upgrade Port on the switch.

4.Power the switch back on.

5.Follow the upgrade procedures under Starting the Upgrade section.

6.After the upgrade completes successfully, power the switch off, once again.

7.Slide the Firmware Upgrade Recovery Switch back to the Normal position.

8.Power the switch back on.

This completes the Firmware Upgrade Recovery operation, and the switch is ready for use.
